A more thoughtful way to stay.
The little things matter. From how we wash our linens to the products we use to clean and care for the air inside our homes, we make intentional choices to create a space that feels fresh, comfortable, and cared for.
Our approach to low-tox living isn't about perfection. It's about reducing unnecessary fragrances, choosing thoughtfully, and being mindful of what we bring into our spaces.

Low-tox living means being more intentional about everyday products and finding practical ways to reduce exposure to certain chemicals and synthetic fragrances where reasonable. Natural doesn't automatically mean safer, and we're always learning as we make choices that work for our homes.

We use fragrance-free, dye-free Free & Clear laundry detergent, vinegar as part of our laundry routine, and reusable wool dryer balls. Clean, comfortable linens without added laundry fragrance.
Products We Use: ALL Free & Clear detergent · White vinegar · Wool dryer balls or Truly Free Laundry Supplies and stain removers and boosters.
We use vinegar for suitable household tasks, Truly Free multipurpose cleaner, and homemade toilet-cleaning bombs made with baking soda, citric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and essential oils. Practical cleaning choices that help us keep unnecessary fragrances out of our routine.

We use Levoit air purifiers in our main living areas and avoid plug-in air fresheners. We also welcome fresh air and ventilation when outdoor conditions allow. Air purifiers can help reduce certain airborne particles as part of a broader indoor air-quality approach.
Product: Levoit Air Purifiers
We make an herbal spray with lavender, rosemary, and sage from our garden, along with witch hazel. It's a simple way to bring our connection to the garden into the care of our spaces. Our herbal spray is not intended to disinfect.
We use a glass water filtration system as part of our everyday approach to more thoughtful household choices. We appreciate the simplicity of glass and choose filtration based on the system's capabilities.
We’re mindful of the materials we use in our kitchen, too. We favor glass dishes, plates, and drinking glasses, wooden cooking utensils, and wooden cutting boards, along with thoughtfully chosen cookware. We appreciate durable, practical materials for everyday cooking and serving, and look for options that align with our more intentional approach to home essentials.
What we choose: Glass dishes and cups · Wooden utensils · Wooden cutting boards · Cookware selected with attention to its materials and coatings.
We choose sheets, bedding, and towels made from natural fibers whenever possible, prioritizing comfort, breathability, and materials that feel good against the skin. We appreciate the simplicity and comfort of natural materials and look for quality textiles that suit our spaces and can be cared for over time.
What we look for: Cotton, linen, and other natural fibers whenever practical.

We avoid plug-in air fresheners, unnecessary artificial fragrances, and harsh cleaners when practical. We also skip heavily scented laundry products and conventional dryer sheets.
Instead, we focus on fragrance-free laundry, thoughtful cleaning products, air filtration, fresh air when possible, and simple alternatives like our garden-made herbal spray and reusable wool dryer balls.
We believe a comfortable space doesn't need to be filled with artificial scents or an endless collection of products. Sometimes, less really is more.

We're always learning and refining the way we care for our spaces. For us, wellness isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about making small, intentional choices that support a more comfortable stay.
We're not perfect, and our spaces aren't 100% toxin-free or completely fragrance-free. Even products we consider cleaner choices can contain scents, including those from essential oils or botanical ingredients. We do our best to be mindful of what we bring into our spaces and reduce unnecessary fragrances where we can. That's why we use the term low-tox rather than non-toxic — we're choosing more thoughtfully, not claiming perfection.
The Juniper Hideaway and Zen Den are places to slow down, reconnect with nature, and settle into your own rhythm. We hope you feel that care in the little things, too.
